Our journey started in 2020 with an idea to help companies around the world design and operate waste and recycling collections.

During this journey, we discovered an unsolved problem in consumer product recycling: up to 80% of used goods end up in waste bins due to a lack of recycling options. This translates into $2.6 trillion worth of material in fast-moving consumer goods that are thrown away and never recovered.

We launched Black Square to improve the concept of post-consumer recycling and unlock the full potential of recycled materials.
